“Moved by Susan Long, seconded by Jessica Walker. Councilmember Susan Long made the following Motion of Direction to the City Manager: I move to direct the City Manager to prioritize the development of a proposal for updates to the relevant ordinances governing Recreational Vehicle (RV) Park and Land Lease Community developments. This proposal should be brought back to Council for consideration with the goal of having updated standards in place prior to Council being asked to review or approve any additional RV or land lease communities. The following updates should include, but not be limited to, recommendations on the following: 1. Incorporating a requirement to evaluate the distance between proposed RV and land lease communities and other similar developments as part of the Conditional Use Permit (CUP) evaluation process. 2. Proposing specific standards for the distance between individual units or spaces within each development, also to be considered during the CUP process. 3. Additional items discussed during the October 10, 2024 workshop on this topic. The updated standards should ensure that future developments of this nature are aligned with the city’s broader planning and development goals, while addressing the needs and concerns of the community.”
