The Budget Guidelines are presented each year and serve as the first direction given by the Commissioners Court on<br id="isPasted">the upcoming budget process. These guidelines provide the fundamental building blocks used by the Planning and<br>Budget Office (PBO) in its formulation of the recommended Preliminary Budget, prior to the adoption of a final budget<br>shaped by the Commissioners Court in the later stages of the budget process. These guidelines also provide offices<br>and departments important information as they prepare their upcoming budget submission.<br><br>This year’s budget process will be different for offices and departments due to financial challenges discussed in this<br>document. Given this, it will be even more important for all Elected and Appointed Officials, Department Heads, and<br>County staff to find new and more efficient ways to work together to deliver services to Travis County residents<br>consistent with the County’s Mission, Vision and Strategic Goals.
