5.X. Consider/Approve Remote Homebound Instruction Waiver Description: Priority #1: Optimize Engaging and Diverse Learning Student requires homebound instruction; however, the assigned homebound teacher is unable to provide instruction in person at the student's home or hospital bedside. Per SAAH §3.7.3 Funding Chart requirements, in-person instruction is required. Due to the student's potentially compromised immune system, remote homebound instruction may be necessary during periods when in-person services are not medically advisable. In such circumstances, a waiver may be submitted to TEA to request approval for remote homebound instruction. Upon TEA approval of the waiver, the district may continue to review and seek eligible funding for services provided during the remote instruction period. Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approves the Remote Homebound Instruction Waiver, as presented.
