2025-0538 Authorize and approve Template Agreement for a Memorandum of Understanding Supporting Growers Education & Workforce Development between Dallas County, Texas, on behalf of Dallas County Health and Human Services, and Various Organizations to provide workforce development opportunities in urban agriculture, equipping participants with essential skills and training to support sustainable food production while also providing opportunities to individuals in underserved communities; to be funded via the grant funding obtained from the City of Dallas for the Growers Education and Workforce Development (GEWD) program; total grant amount not to exceed $49,800.00 Mr. Martin Amended the briefing with the following verbiage; the Growers Education & Workforce Development program referenced in agenda item #27 is for educational purposes only and not related to workforce development. On a motion made by Commissioner John Wiley Price, and seconded by Commissioner Dr. Elba Garcia, the following order was passed and adopted by the Commissioners Court of Dallas County, State of Texas: BRIEFING DATE: May 6, 2025 FUNDING SOURCE: Fund 20200; function 20000 Be it resolved and ordered that the Dallas County Commissioners Court does hereby approve Template Agreement for a Memorandum of Understanding Supporting Growers Education & Workforce Development between Dallas County, Texas, on behalf of Dallas County Health and Human Services, and Various Organizations to provide workforce development opportunities in urban agriculture, equipping participants with essential skills and training to support sustainable food production while also providing opportunities to individuals in underserved communities; to be funded via the grant funding obtained from the City of Dallas for the Growers Education and Workforce Development (GEWD) program; total grant amount not to exceed $49,800.00,and authorize the County Judge to sign on behalf of Dallas County.
