Texas Local Government 262.024(a)(8) allows the Commissioners Court to grant an order to exempt contracts purchasing items of food from the sealed competitive bidding requirements, which would otherwise apply to all County contracts. To facilitate the Travis County Juvenile Probation and Sheriff’s Office’s efficient and expedient purchase of food for the inmates and detainees in its custody, this Order provides an exemption for every contract for food purchases for the Travis County Correctional Complex and Gardner Betts, which references it and complies with the Order. <br><br>This exemption will be effective October 1, 2026, for fiscal year 2027.
