Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

Section 22.003 of the Purchasing Procedures Guide requires assets that are declared as "missing" by the User Department to not be removed from the inventory records until the User Department makes a thorough and adequate search for them, and documents steps taken to locate the "missing" asset for three successive years to determine whether the asset can be located elsewhere in the County. After three successive inventory searches, the Purchasing Office requests the Commissioners Court remove the asset from the inventory records.

The Purchasing Asset team worked with the corresponding departments after the FY2026 Annual Inventory and identified 24 assets that had been declared missing for 3 years or more. These assets are designated as low-value assets. Removal of these items is part of the Purchasing Assets team's continued efforts to ensure the Travis County inventory is complete, timely, and as accurate as possible. The FY2026 Missing Assets List is attached along with a department memo from each department where the assets were assigned.
