The Animal Services Office (“ASO”) Interlocal Agreement (“ILA”) between Travis County and the City of Austin is designed to provide more efficient administration of animal services for county residents, and to allow the City and the County to combine resources and capabilities in providing a collaborative animal control enforcement, shelter services, and wildlife management program. These programs serve a regional populace in the identification and vaccination of domestic pets, the maintenance of shelter facilities, and the control of animals at large (both domestic and wild).<br data-pasted="true"><br>The County and City executed an amended and restated agreement with the initial term beginning October 1, 2021, and ending on September 30, 2022 (the “Initial Agreement”). The Parties renewed the ILA for a three-month term beginning October 1, 2022, and continuing through December 31, 2022 ("First Renewal"). The Parties renewed and amended the ILA for a nine-month term, beginning January 1, 2023, and ending on September 30, 2023 (“First Amendment and Second Renewal”), with the terms and conditions of the ILA, including all attachments, being retroactively effective to October 1, 2022. The parties renewed the ILA for a two-month term, beginning October 1, 2023, and ending on November 30, 2023 (“Third Renewal”), with the terms and conditions of this ILA, including all attachments, being retroactively effective to October 1, 2023. The parties renewed the ILA for an additional two-month term beginning December 1, 2023, and continuing through January 31, 2024 (the “Fourth Renewal”) with the terms and conditions of this ILA, including all attachments, being retroactively effective to October 1, 2023. <br><br>The Parties renewed and amended the Agreement for an eight-month term, beginning February 1, 2024, and ending on September 30, 2024 (“Fifth Renewal Term”), with the terms and conditions of this Amendment, including all attachments, being retroactively effective to October 1, 2023. The Parties renewed the Agreement for a four-month term, beginning October 1, 2024, and ending January 31, 2025 (“Sixth Renewal Term”), while the Parties finalized negotiation of the Agreement. The Parties renewed the Agreement for a three-month term beginning February 1, 2025 and ending April 30, 2025 (“Seventh Renewal Term”). The Parties renewed and amended the Agreement for a five-month term, beginning May 1, 2025, and ending on September 30, 2025 (“Eighth Renewal Term”).
