2025-0053 Approval of Full and Final Settlement of the Curtisha McGowan lawsuit styled Curtisha McGowan v. Kwaesi Palmer, City of Dallas, and Dallas County, Cause No. CC-21-04242-A, in the Dallas County Court at Law No. 1 On a motion made by Commissioner Dr. Elba Garcia, and seconded by Commissioner Dr. Theresa Daniel, the following order was passed and adopted by the Commissioners Court of Dallas County, State of Texas: BRIEFING DATE: January 21, 2025 FUNDING SOURCE: GENERAL FUND Be it resolved and ordered that the Dallas County Commissioners Court does hereby approve this order directing the Dallas County Treasurer to issue a check in the amount of THIRTEEN-THOUSAND NINE-HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS AND FIFTY-NINE CENTS ($13,975.59) made payable to the Law Offices of Kelly T. Curran, as full and final settlement of all claims of Curtisha McGowan in the lawsuit styled Curtisha McGowan v. Kwaesi Palmer, City of Dallas, and Dallas County, Cause No. CC-21-04242-A, in the Dallas County Court at Law No. 1. The County Judge is authorized to execute any documentation required for this settlement on behalf of Dallas County; and the County Treasurer is to release said check to an employee of the Civil Division of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, for disbursement and satisfaction.
