During that time, the parties have periodically renewed, amended, or replaced the governing agreement to reflect updated costs, responsibilities, and operating procedures. The current Interlocal Agreement for Intake and Related Services at the Travis County Central Intake Facility and Criminal Justice Center became effective October 1, 2025, and continues through September 30, 2026. Section 1.03 authorizes up to four additional one-year renewal terms, and this amendment represents the first such renewal.</span><br><p style='color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: medium; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-space: normal; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial;'>The proposed First Amendment renews the Agreement for the first additional one-year term, beginning October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2027. It also replaces Section 5.04(C) to formalize continued City-County coordination on the Class C magistration process through a quarterly working group that will review Class C arrest data and consider operational improvements.</p><p style='color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: medium; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-space: normal; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial;'>Potential improvements identified in the amendment include developing a more robust information packet for arrestees released to appear in court later, keeping a City magistrate on call for overnight magistration of City arrestees, and transporting City Class C misdemeanor arrestees directly to Austin Municipal Court or Downtown Austin Community Court when appropriate rather than processing them through Central Intake.</p>
