Consider approving the disposal of two (2) Police Department vehicles through E-Block.

This item approves the disposal of two (2) Police Department vehicles, specifically, a 2013 Dodge Charger and a 2016 Ford Explorer, through E-Block.  The department has decommissioned these vehicles, which have been in service since 2013 and 2016 respectively, and proposes their disposal through services provided by E-Block. <br><br>Costs associated with keeping the vehicles suitable for service are high, thus, making the most cost-effective solution that of auction. The vehicles will be decommissioned per the standards set by Local Government Code, Section 272.006 Sale or Transfer of Law Enforcement Vehicle, which includes the removal of any equipment or insignia that could mislead a reasonable person to believe that the vehicle is a law enforcement motor vehicle.<br><br>Auction proceeds from the vehicle sales will be recorded in the City's Vehicle Replacement Fund to help offset the cost of future vehicle purchase(s).
