Counsel at First Appearance (CAFA) is an important component of effective pretrial justice. Providing quality representation at an accused individual’s first appearance before a judicial officer has been shown to reduce jail populations and legal system costs and strengthens procedural justice. Travis County now requires professional services from TechShare to help with (1) Migration of 2 Petabytes of data, (2) Storing digital media evidence in proper evidence management system, (3) Ensures chain-of-custody, and, (4) Enables “Partner Share” to defense attorneys.
