Lift AV3 Rotary Wing Helmets are flight helmets that function as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn by all STAR Flight staff who fly on a Travis County helicopter. These helmets have a modular design that supports night vision goggles, communication system upgrades, visor configurations, enhanced ventilation, and other mission-specific accessories, allowing a single helmet platform to meet current and future operational requirements. <br><br>Based on operational necessity and the direct impact on staff safety, STAR Flight requests exemption for the purchase of Lift AV3 Rotary Wing Helmets from Lift Aviation USA in the amount of $183,800.80.<br><br><span data-teams="true" data-pasted="true"><span style="font-size: inherit;">Pursuant to Texas Local Government Code 262.024, a contract for the purchase of an item necessary to preserve or protect the public health or safety of the residents of the county is exempt from the requirement established by Section 262.023 if the Commissioners Court by order grants the exemption.</span></span>
