Consider/Approve the Purchase of School Buses Description: Priority #5: Optimize All Available Resources 14-Passenger Buses: CFB currently utilizes 8-passenger blue, non-CDL buses to transport our students from school to school. We would prefer to transition over to 14-passenger buses, which would allow us to reduce the number of routes needed. 54-passenger buses: CFB currently utilizes 54-passenger buses to transport students with special needs. We would prefer to continue using this size bus. 77-passenger buses: The majority of 77-passenger buses in CFB's current fleet are International or Thomas Built buses. Of the vendors submitting quotes, Longhorn provides International buses and Thomas provides Thomas Built buses. The total cost is $1,378,300 using local funds. Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approves the purchase of school bueses as presented.
