The Travis County Commissioners Court makes appointments to the Strategic Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) Board of Directors for two-year terms. In October of 2021, the Commissioners Court added two additional positions to the SHFC Board designated for current or former tenants. Appointments to both boards are governed by the Uniform Appointment Process (UAP) adopted by the Court on March 6, 2012.

One of the SHFC Directors, Kerri Dorman, submitted a letter of resignation indicating that June 4, 2026 will be the last meeting she attends. Ms. Dorman's current term expires on December 31, 2026. Per the terms of the UAP, the Commissioners Court was required to issue a Call for Applications to fill this vacancy. The Commissioners Court issued a Call for Applications to fill vacancies on April 28, 2026. The application period closed on Friday, May 29, 2026 and a total of six applications were received. On June 9th the Commissioner Court approved interviewing four candidates. One additional candidate will also be considered for appointment but this candidate had recently interviewed before the Commissioners Court, so the Court will utilize that previous interview when considering this candidate. IGR is now asking the Commissioners Court to adopt a set of interview quetions and conduct interviews with the four candidates.
