2026-0046 Approval of Contract with the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) to assist those affected by the government shutdown and suspension of SNAP benefits, for $1,000,000 On a motion made by Commissioner Dr. Elba Garcia, and seconded by Commissioner Andrew Sommerman, the following order was passed and adopted by the Commissioners Court of Dallas County, State of Texas: BRIEFING DATE: January 6, 2026 FUNDING SOURCE: General Fund 9950 - Countywide Appropriations (100.12000.9910.62225.10000.0000) Other Professional Services Be it resolved and ordered that the Dallas County Commissioners Court does hereby authorize the execution of the attached agreement between Dallas County and the NTFB approving a $1,000,000 grant to establish and operate secondary food distribution sites serving Dallas County residents affected by the federal government shutdown.
