Receive a report, hold a discussion and take action on a resolution designating and proclaiming the City of Denison as a Purple Heart City, recognizing August 7 of each year as Purple Heart Day in the City of Denison, and authorizing the installation of Purple Heart City signs at gateways into the City.

<ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>The Purple Heart is one of the oldest and most respected military decorations awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces who have been wounded or killed as a result of enemy action while serving in defense of the nation.</li><li>Recognizing the courage and sacrifice of Purple Heart recipients provides an opportunity for the City and community to honor those who have endured injury or made significant sacrifices in service to our country.</li><li>The proposed resolution formally designates the City of Denison as a Purple Heart City in recognition of Purple Heart recipients and their service to our nation.</li><li>Additionally, the resolution authorizes the placement of Purple Heart City recognition signs at appropriate gateway locations within the City in accordance with applicable City standards and procedures.</li></ul>
