2026-0948 FY2027 – Sheriff's Office – Dallas County North Texas Auto Theft Task Force Acceptance of the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority (MVCPA); $1,283,888 Grant Award; $100,435 Dallas County Cash Match On a motion made by Commissioner Dr. Elba Garcia, and seconded by Commissioner Andrew Sommerman, the following order was passed and adopted by the Commissioners Court of Dallas County, State of Texas: BRIEFING DATE: September 1, 2026 FUNDING SOURCE: Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority; Cash Match Requirement Be it resolved and ordered that the Dallas County Commissioners Court does hereby approve the acceptance of the North Texas Auto Theft Task Force for the FY2027 MVCPA grant for continued funding in the amount of $1,283,888 and a Dallas County cash match of $100,435 of the $529,340 proposed cash match and authorize the County Judge to sign related documents. The County’s cash match of $100,435 was included as part of the approved FY2027 County Match budget. The FY2027 grant term runs from September 1, 2026 - August 31, 2027.
