5.P. Consider/Approve Purchase of Standridge Stadium Scoreboard Replacement Description: Priority #2: Optimize Facility, Safety & Security, and Infrastructure Priority #3: Optimize Community Engagement The scoreboard system at Tommy Standridge Stadium is now 21 years old and relies on three separate aging subsystems—audio, video and scoreboard—that no longer integrate reliably. These components have increasingly failed during events, including full-screen blackouts, frozen video, audio delays, and mismatched timing between the announcer and the display. Many parts within these systems are now irreplaceable, leaving the district unable to maintain consistent game day operations. These failures have disrupted athletic events, frustrated patrons, and created operational challenges for coaches, officials and announcers. A full replacement with a unified, 100% digital board and a hard-wired scoring backup is necessary to restore dependable functionality. The new system includes an updated curriculum and production platform that will allow CTE audio/video students to create graphics, operate cameras, manage live events, and gain industry-aligned experience in digital media production. After reviewing four proposals, the district has narrowed the selection to one vendor and anticipates construction beginning at the end of football season. Funding will be provided through the 2018 Bond residuals, as discussed in previous board meetings or work sessions. Total cost not to exceed $1.3 million. Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approves the purchase of the Standridge Stadium replacement and to delegate authority to the Superintendent, or her designee, to execute purchases and contracts in the best interest of the District.
