The City has been working with the University of Houston (the "University") to provide opportunities for teaching and learning activities for its apprenticeship course for students of the Hobby School's Masters of Public Administration Program. <br><br>Pursuant to this proposed agreement, the responsibilities of the parties include, in part, the following:<ul style="margin-left: 20px ;"><li><div>The University shall:</div></li></ul><ul style="margin-left: 40px ;"><li><div>enroll students for its apprenticeship course;</div></li><li><div>present candidates for the course for the City's review;</div></li><li><div>place up to four (4) student interns with the City;</div></li><li><div>pay the students;</div></li><li><div>develop skills assessments for the students;</div></li><li><div>provide orientation and workshops for the students during the semester;</div></li><li><div>provide a training session for City staff and employees;</div></li><li><div>assign a faculty member as a supervisor of the program; and</div></li><li><div>withdraw a student whose performance is unsatisfactory or whose conduct is unacceptable.</div></li></ul><ul style="margin-left: 20px ;"><li><div>The City shall:</div></li></ul><ul style="margin-left: 60px ;"><li><div>create job descriptions for the students;</div></li><li><div>assign the students to two or more departments during the semester term;</div></li><li><div>define goals and expectations;</div></li><li><div>create opportunities for growth and learning; and</div></li><li><div>provide constructive feedback.</div></li></ul><br>
