<ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>In 2018, the City Council adopted the City of Denison Municipal Court Courtroom Security Plan to establish policies and procedures for maintaining a safe and secure court environment.</li><li>Since that time, changes in court operations, emergency preparedness practices, security recommendations, and applicable guidance have warranted a comprehensive review and update of the plan.</li><li>The Texas Code of Criminal Procedure requires each municipal court to maintain a court security committee responsible for developing and periodically reviewing a written court security plan.</li><li>The Court Security Committee met on July 15, 2026, to review the proposed updates in detail and unanimously approved the revised Court Security Plan, recommending its adoption by the City Council.</li><li>The Committee determined that the revisions enhance the security and preparedness of the Municipal Court while aligning with current guidance from the Texas Office of Court Administration and established emergency management practices.</li></ul>
