John Wiley Price, Individually and in his official capacity as Dallas County Commissioner, Cause No. DC-26-01085, in the 44th Judicial District Court, Dallas County, Texas On a motion made by Commissioner Dr. Elba Garcia, and seconded by Commissioner Dr. Theresa Daniel, the following order was passed and adopted by the Commissioners Court of Dallas County, State of Texas: BRIEFING DATE: March 17, 2026 FUNDING SOURCE: GENERAL FUND Be it resolved and ordered that the Dallas County Commissioners Court does hereby approve the First Amended Attorney Fee Contract, with Leon Carter of Carter Arnett Bennett & Perez, to add the associate attorney hourly rates at $350/hr. and paralegal hourly rates at $150/hr., for representation of Commissioner John Wiley Price in the case of Syvondia “Vonda” Bailey Shaw, Individually and A/N/F of A.S., a minor v. John Wiley Price, Individually and in his official capacity as Dallas County Commissioner , Cause No. DC-26-01085, in the 44th Judicial District Court, Dallas County, Texas, and authorizes the Dallas County Judge to sign on behalf of Dallas County. The Commissioners Court exempts this contract from the requirements of Texas Local Government Code Section 262.023 under the exemption of Section 262.024(a)(4).
