2026-0635 National Gun Violence Awareness Day On a motion made by Commissioner Dr. Theresa Daniel, and seconded by Commissioner Andrew Sommerman, the following order was passed and adopted by the Commissioners Court of Dallas County, State of Texas: BRIEFING DATE: June 2, 2026 FUNDING SOURCE: NA Be it resolved and ordered that the Dallas County Commissioners Court does hereby NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Dallas County Commissioners Court declares the first Friday in June, June 5, 2026, as National Gun Violence Awareness Day in Dallas County. All residents are encouraged to support local efforts to prevent gun violence and to honor and value human life.
