The Medical Examiner's Office requests to add additional products and drug testing kits to the previously exempted contract with Neogen Corporation. This contract was exempted on June 25, 2024, as a sole source purchase. Neogen Corporation currently manufactures the test kits and the wash buffer and does not sell them to any other manufacturer or vendor to resell. These items are required for the use of the machine.<br><br>County Purchasing Act Section 262.024 (a) (7) (A) provides for discretionary exemption from the competitive procurement process for an item that can be obtained from only one source because of the existence of patents, copyrights, secret processes, or monopolies.
