2025-0606 National Gun Violence Awareness Day 2025 On a motion made by Commissioner Dr. Theresa Daniel, and seconded by Commissioner Dr. Elba Garcia, the following order was passed and adopted by the Commissioners Court of Dallas County, State of Texas: BRIEFING DATE: June 3, 2025 FUNDING SOURCE: NA Be it resolved and ordered that the Dallas County Commissioners Court does hereby NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Dallas County Commissioners Court declares the first Friday in June, June 6, 2025, be declared National Gun Violence Awareness Day in Dallas County. I encourage all citizens to support their local communities’ efforts to prevent the tragic effects of gun violence and to honor and value human lives.
