Dallas County, et al.; Case No. 3:23-CV-00381, pending in the United States District Court for Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division On a motion made by Commissioner Dr. Elba Garcia, and seconded by Commissioner Dr. Theresa Daniel, the following order was passed and adopted by the Commissioners Court of Dallas County, State of Texas: BRIEFING DATE: January 21, 2025 FUNDING SOURCE: GENERAL FUND Be it resolved and ordered that the Dallas County Commissioners Court does hereby approve the First Amended Attorney Fee Contract, with Edwin P. Voss, Jr. (Brown & Hofmeister, L.L.P), increasing the fee cap amount from $50,000.00 to $100,000.00, serving as counsel for Annette Grant in Sophia Lewis v. Dallas County, et al.; Case No. 3:23-CV-00381, pending in the United States District Court for Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division, and authorizes the Dallas County Judge to sign on behalf of Dallas County. The Commissioners Court exempts this contract from the requirements of Texas Local Government Code Section 262.023 under the exemption of Section 262.024(a)(4).
